Quality Food Safety Manager

Job Summary

Due to significant growth, we are looking for a successful Quality Manager to join our Walden Farms operation to lead all aspects of the Quality Assurance and Food Safety programs. Primary duties include managing the company’s third-party audits, implementing the HACCP plan, ensuring all employees are trained in and follow Good Manufacturing Practices, conducting internal audits, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Key responsibility for managing outside contractors and investigating and resolving customer complaints will be a major part of this new role.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field
  • HACCP &ASQ Certified
  • Minimum of 5 years experience that includes managing a team of food safety, QA professionals in a food/personal care/nutritional supplement/pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
  • Must be Bilingual and fluent in English and Spanish
  • FSMA Certified or experience with FSMA; able to test finished foods and record results to meet FSMA requirements
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and database programs
  • Knowledge of ESHA Genesis a plus
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills that inspire team confidence, collaboration and respect while motivating team members to contribute to continual improvement efforts
  • Proven superior written and oral communication skills
  • Has critical thinking skills with the ability to anticipate needs, issues and solve problems proactively and collaboratively
  • Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to build and maintain good working relationships with others within the organization, suppliers, and customers
