Job Summary

Reports directly to the Facility Manager. Responsible for setting up, operating, and running the equipment that blends, mixes, and cook’s ingredients during the manufacturing process of food products.  Reads and understands instructions, and prepares products according to prescribed formulas and procedures.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Set up, operate, and run the equipment that cooks, mixes, blends, or processes ingredients in the manufacturing of food products, according to formulas, recipes and procedures. 
  • Read and interpret formulas to determine product specifications, processing information, and technical information.
  • Follow recipes to produce food products of specified flavor, texture, clarity, bouquet, or color. 
  • Mix or blend ingredients, according to recipes, using an agitator, or by controlling vats that heat and mix ingredients. 
  • Monitoring and regulating gauges, recording instruments, flow meters, and thermometers to correctly adjust the addition of raw material ingredients.
  • Record production and test data for each food product batch, such as the ingredients used, lot numbers, temperature, test results, mixing speeds, and cycle times. 
  • Taking samples on in-process products to provide to the quality assurance laboratory for testing.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing all equipment necessary in accordance with GMPs of the facility.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience operating in a fast-paced food facility a plus.
  • Ability to be self-guided and motivated to operate independently.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Able to work in team environment.
